Case Study: City of West Hollywood grows town-hall attendance 500% with Livestorm
Key results
The challenge
During COVID-19, West Hollywood needed to reach residents, businesses, and visitors with rapidly changing protocols. In-person meetings could not meet the scale or accessibility requirements, and the city lacked suitable digital tools for sensitive public discussions.
The solution
The city adopted Livestorm for virtual town halls, choosing it over Zoom and Microsoft Teams for engagement features including speaking permissions for moderation, polling, and HD recording suitable for TV broadcast.
“Never have we seen this level of engagement before - not from our community nor City Council meetings!”

The results, in context
Virtual attendance rose about 500%, from 20 to 50 in-person attendees to more than 300 online, and audience questions during live Q&As increased 200%. The city ran 29 webinars over 12 months and scaled from one to two per week.
