Case Study: Tome migrates tens of millions of users off Auth0 to Stytch
Key results
The challenge
Tome, an AI-powered storytelling and presentation platform serving more than 10 million users, faced reliability and performance problems on Auth0, including production outages, alongside limited flexibility for its multi-tenant architecture. Documentation gaps and support responsiveness added to the difficulty of maintaining authentication at scale.
The solution
Tome migrated to Stytch's B2B authentication platform, using its multi-tenant model, account deduplication and user-account linking, and device fingerprinting for fraud prevention, implemented through the Node backend SDK with a custom front end.
“We migrated tens of millions of users from Auth0 to Stytch in less than a month. It was far and away the easiest migration I've ever worked on.”

The results, in context
Tome migrated tens of millions of users from Auth0 to Stytch in less than a month with zero downtime. Following the move, the team reallocated two to three engineers from maintaining authentication to core product development and new features.
