Case Study: Hepper grows product sales revenue 2,964% with a Semrush content strategy

The challenge
In February 2021, media and eCommerce company Pangolia acquired Hepper, a modern cat furniture brand that was receiving only around 150 daily pageviews. The experienced content team believed a strong content strategy could bring millions of monthly readers, who would learn about their pets and also be introduced to Hepper's products. The goal was to publish 5,000 posts within two years and grow organic traffic to one million pageviews per month.
The solution
Hepper used Semrush's keyword research tools, including the Keyword Magic Tool, to identify what cat owners were searching for and how difficult each term would be to rank for. The team used the Organic Research tool to reverse-engineer competitors' top-ranking keywords, and initially focused on low-competition long-tail keywords to build domain authority before targeting more competitive terms.
“Semrush was an absolute game-changer for our content strategy. This tool was incredibly helpful for figuring out which articles our audience wanted to read, and the data we got from Semrush ultimately allowed us to publish more than 5,000 articles and grow our organic visitors from almost nothing to more than 3 million per month.”
