The challenge

Funraise is a fundraising platform for nonprofits. Delivering analytics to its customers required engineers to build custom reports by hand, a process that took several days to weeks and consumed roughly 40 hours of engineering time per week. Nonprofit users could not explore their own data without waiting on the engineering team.

The solution

Funraise embedded Sisense to power a self-serve product called Fundraising Intelligence, with template reports, self-service dashboards, and in-app integration so nonprofits could access analytics directly. This freed engineers from producing reports and let customers build their own views.

We wanted our engineers to build innovative new technology instead of putting out reports.
