Case Study: The Church Online cuts software provisioning from 3 hours to 15 minutes with JumpCloud
Key results
The challenge
The Church Online, a Pittsburgh-based provider of technology services to ministries with 30+ employees and 2,000+ customers, had outgrown its approach to managing access and control of sensitive information. Managing file-server access was especially critical, since nearly every user accessed the file-server infrastructure daily for design and video work.
The solution
The Church Online adopted JumpCloud's Directory-as-a-Service in early 2017 to centralize identity and access management, using its LDAP feature and built-in Google Apps (G Suite) integration. When JumpCloud added Samba file-server authentication, the team rolled it out to the entire staff.
“The ease of use of the JumpCloud system enables us to cut down the amount of time it takes to do many day-to-day tasks.”

The results, in context
Migrating staff from local accounts to JumpCloud credentials took approximately three minutes per person, and the full staff rollout was completed in a single morning. The Church Online reported that provisioning tasks that could sometimes take up to three hours - such as setting up a new phone system - now take about fifteen minutes, and that deprovisioning a departing user became a single action.
