vs. custom integration development

The challenge

First Resonance's ION Factory OS is a manufacturing execution system whose value depends on integrating with customers' ERP, PLM, and QMS platforms. Building bespoke integrations for each customer created onboarding friction that slowed adoption after contracts were signed and did not scale with the customer base.

The solution

First Resonance embedded Prismatic's iPaaS into ION so internal teams could build native integrations and customers could self-build automations through an embedded workflow builder, removing the reliance on custom one-off engineering work.

Time to value is really critical, and what we found was that with integrations, it's a critical source of value.

The results, in context

First Resonance now runs 550+ integration instances across 80+ manufacturing customers and reports $250K-$300K in annual cost savings from moving off custom integration development. Integrations became a repeatable product capability rather than a per-customer engineering project.
