The challenge

Clarks' digital team wanted a deeper understanding of how visitors interacted with product detail pages, particularly the sequence of steps required to add an item to the cart.

The solution

Using Contentsquare heatmaps, the team analyzed click patterns and found users engaged more with the Size and Add to Cart buttons than with the width-selector dropdown. They pre-selected the width when only one fit was available, removing a step from the flow.

The biggest resource benefit to me of Contentsquare is time. To get that level of insight and drive beneficial tests, we'd need another 3 full-time staff members.

The results, in context

The single optimization was credited with $1.1M in annual revenue (approximately £900K). The team also cited time savings, estimating the equivalent insight would otherwise require additional full-time staff.
