Case Study: BODi eliminates 100% of .env files and cuts config changes to minutes with Doppler
Key results
The challenge
BODi (The Beachbody Company), a digital health and fitness company, ran a self-built hosted application and secrets-management platform. Configuration changes required submitting and coordinating tickets and waiting for another team, which could take hours or days.
The solution
BODi adopted Doppler's secrets-management platform with integrations to AWS Parameter Store and AWS Secrets Manager, the CLI, role-based access controls, log forwarding to Datadog and version control with audit trails, and rolled it out across 50 systems.
“The process changed from submitting and coordinating tickets and waiting for another team to pick up the request to making changes seamlessly within the UI. From hours or even days to minutes and seconds.”
BVBlake VisinExecutive Director of Digital Engineering, BODi
The results, in context
According to the case study, BODi eliminated 100% of .env files and rolled Doppler out to 50 systems. Configuration and app-deployment changes moved from a ticket-based process taking hours or days to self-service changes made in minutes, with cost savings driven by time no longer spent supporting its self-built platform.
